Shannon + Sunir Wedding

Shannon & Sunir’s wedding day was amazing and we’re so happy that we could be a part of it.  They are two of the nicest people we’ve met and it’s very obvious that they are surrounded by loving families and friends.  Our day began at Shannon’s parents’ home, where Shannon and her bridesmaids would be getting ready for the big day.  Since her bridesmaids were her two sisters and one of her closest friends, it felt like one big happy family in that home.

Before the wedding ceremony, Shannon & Sunir arranged to meet for the first time on their wedding day at Alexander Muir Park.  When they first saw each other, the look on their faces was magical!  You could feel the excitement in the air.

The wedding ceremony and reception would take place at the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club.  The ceremony blended elements from their respective backgrounds, making it special to them but complex at the same time.  The officiant, Sarah Bunnett-Gibson, told me that in her 17 years as an interfaith officiant this was one of the most unique and beautiful ceremonies she has had the privilege of witnessing.  Sarah did a wonderful job of leading the ceremony.

The evening followed with a delicious Indian banquet, touching speeches from family and friends, lots of singing, and kissing!  An awesome band by the name of All Day Breakfast also rocked the house and played live favourites that kept the party going late into the night.

Thank you to Shannon & Sunir, your friends, and family for welcoming us into your lives for the day.

Jully Black & Mavi Jeans

Earlier this week I was asked to shoot Toronto’s own Jully Black and the contest winner of Mavi Jeans‘ “Queen for a Day” contest.  One lucky contest winner was given the opportunity to spend the afternoon shopping for some cool new Mavi Jeans with Jully at the Jean Machine store at the Eaton Centre.  Jully even tried on a pair and modelled them for us!

It was cool to meet up with Jully again, the last time I saw her was when I shot her concert at Pride Week this past summer.  She is such an amazingly talented singer and a down-to-earth person.  It was fun hanging out with the girls for the afternoon shopping for some new denim!

Lynne + Derrick Engagement

Last weekend we headed north for Lynne & Derrick’s engagement session to a scenic farm just outside of Cookstown.  The mornings are beginning to get really chilly, but it is at this time of day where the light and colours of the leaves are simply dazzling.

It’s always meaningful when a couple incorporates what is near and dear to them for their engagement session. In this case, it was their cute dog Roxy and Derrick’s family’s racing horse Emerald Tartufo.  Roxy was particularly curious and playful as she ran through the fallen leaves while Emerald Tartufo tried to set an example by being on her best behaviour…

…until she was feeling a little left out, then Emerald Tartufo wanted in on some smooching action too! :)

Lynne & Derrick have such a great sense of humour!  We love this shot with Derrick racing!  All I can say is that Emerald may have some serious competition!  We can’t wait to see them at their wedding this coming weekend.
