I recently photographed some fun disco-themed portraits for one of my corporate clients, Olive Media. Each year, Olive Media throws a fantastic themed industry party. Last year it was “rock star” this year it is “disco”. I photographed these at their office one afternoon and they even had Saturday Night Fever playing in the background on a TV to get everybody into the disco mood. It was a blast!
What an amazing year! We began 2009 with our first wedding in January and completed a successful year with our very last wedding in late-November. We have so many fond memories from all the incredible celebrations we were privileged to photograph. We shared lots of laughs and shed a few happy tears along the way. We’re sincerely humbled that so many wonderful couples chose us to share in their big day.
The 2009 wedding season took us to faraway places like the beautiful islands of the Bahamas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Turks & Caicos. Back home we got the rare opportunity to photograph a wedding at the Hockey Hall of Fame. The wedding season also took us to the top of downtown skyscrapers and into the backyards of country homes. Wherever we were, the themes were the same: love, family, and friends. Our hope was to photograph these rare moments with our artful approach, capture genuine emotions, and document one of the biggest celebrations in our couples’ lives.
Thanks to Kevin Fung and Spencer Fu for helping us on a few days to photograph these wonderful celebrations.
Here is a compilation of my favourite wedding and engagement images from 2009.
Now that we are deep into the 2009 wedding season, it has been getting pretty busy around here. Since we are photographing weddings during the weekends, I try to use the weekdays to tackle all the editing and post-production work that goes into our photography. The weekdays are also the best time for us to catch up on administrative work, meet people, and undertake other assignments such as real estate shoots or corporate headshots. Last week was one of those weeks. I photographed a series of headshots for one of our corporate clients. To me, a corporate headshot should convey a sense of confidence, approachability, and competence. Here are some of the headshot portraits we photographed.
