Olive Media “Disco” Summer Party

It’s always a lot of fun to photograph Olive Media’s annual summer bash.  Each year the party gets crazier and this year was no exception.  The theme for this year was “disco” and Olive Media spared no expense at making the evening a throwback to the disco era.  The swanky Maro Supper Club was decorated in full Olive Media flavour and a lighted disco dance floor was even put in that would make Tony Manero (aka John Travolta) proud!  The drinks were flowing and it was a great time!  As in previous years, Olive Media asked me to set up my guest photo booth to photograph the crazy antics of their party guests.  It was hilarious to photograph people decked out in full disco-era costumes and big crazy hair dos.

I asked my friends and colleagues Spencer Fu, Andy King, and Norris Films to help photograph and film this fun event for Olive Media.  Here are some of our images from the memorable evening.

Leanne + Steven Engagement

Although they both call Ottawa home now, Leanne & Steven each come from two different cultures.  However, you quickly realize that there are tremendous similarities between both their families.  For instance, they tell me that each time they drop in on their families they usually get fed very well, which explains why they had a cooler full of Korean foods in their trunk that afternoon!  I’d also make a bet that each of their families will be glued to the television during the South Korea and Italy World Cup matches.  It’s a good thing that neither country is playing on their wedding day this Saturday!

Kerry + Jonathan Engagement

Kerry & Jonathan both grew up in Montreal, but met while attending school at Ryerson here in Toronto.  They’re a very sweet couple and asked me if I could photograph their engagement images around the campus where they spent many of their years together.  We even dropped by The Senator Restaurant, a favourite local diner where they had their first date.  Looking forward to their autumn wedding!
