For some of my couples who plan their wedding in Toronto from afar, it can often be a challenge just to find time to meet before the wedding day. For instance, I didn’t get to meet Lisa & Gerard in-person until the week before the wedding. Though when I did, one of the first things I noticed was just how in tune they are with each other. It was almost like they were finishing each other’s thoughts. They definitely shared the same ideas and vision about their wedding day.
Right away, I got the sense that it was important for Lisa & Gerard to have the wedding on their terms: unpretentious, sometimes quirky, and a whole lot of fun! It was who they are and that’s what I liked so much about them. Working together with them was an absolute pleasure as they trusted us completely to do what we do best.
Although Lisa & Gerard both call Arizona home now, they both originally hail from Toronto. This would have normally made the wedding planning a challenge. However, with the help of wedding planner extraordinaire Jovie Padua, everything ran smoothly. Jovie always ensures that our couples enjoy their day to its fullest and this makes our job of photographing the day so much easier! Nobody gets stressed, everything is on time. Lisa’s good friend Joanna also helped out immensely throughout the day. Joanna is the talented designer and creator of the famous Henkaa convertible dress (perfect for bridesmaids dresses!), but on the wedding day she worked tirelessly from morning to night helping out.
Here are some of my favourite photos of how Lisa & Gerard enjoyed the day to its fullest. Thank you for having Kevin F. and I be a part of your day. Looking forward to catching up when you guys drop into town again!

Ever since Park and my brother became roommates at the University of Waterloo, Park has been one of his closest friends and a family friend of ours. Irene had been busy completing her medical studies in Ottawa so I didn’t get to meet her earlier until they started planning for their wedding. But the first thing I noticed about her was just how genuine and infectious her smile is! After meeting Irene & Park together I could see the connection they shared.
When we arrived in the morning to photograph wedding day preparations at each of their respective family homes, I learned that they grew up literally right around the corner from each other. However, even though they grew up in the same neighbourhood and their parents are good friends, they didn’t begin dating until very much later. Park is a pretty laid back guy so I’m sure he didn’t do enough to get Irene’s attention at the time! But I’m really glad that they did eventually get together at the right time, because they are a perfect match for each other and two of the sweetest people I’ve photographed.
To say it was an amazing day is an understatement. Thanks to a little serendipity, it’s really cool how things are meant to work out in the end. Thank you for having Kevin F. and I be a part of your day.
I won’t even try to begin explaining what’s going on here!
Love their reaction after watching our same-day edit photo slideshow!

It was easy to see that Vivian & Kenneth were a little nervous initially being in front of the camera. However, it didn’t take long for us to find our chemistry working together and these two were giggling the rest of the afternoon! I can vouch that being photographed is not the easiest thing in the world. Ironically, I still get uneasy stepping in front of a camera and I’m a photographer! Fortunately for me, I get to spend most of my time behind the camera creating wonderful and genuine images for my couples. Vivian & Kenneth made it easy to photograph the playfulness and love in their relationship. I can’t wait to see them next year at their wedding!
