Sheila + Yunghan Wedding

When I met Sheila last year to chat about her wedding plans, she was just finishing up her doctoral studies at the University of Toronto in biochemistry.  A subject I absolutely dreaded during my years at UofT!  Shortly thereafter, Sheila moved out of the country to join Yunghan in the UK.  We corresponded over e-mail for the next year, but I never got a chance to meet Yunghan until a few days before the wedding.  After meeting him, I can honestly say I’ve never met a more jovial groom; he was smiling and laughing the whole day long!

Sheila met Yunghan in Toronto when he was completing a post-doctoral work term here.  After two years on our side of the ocean, he returned to the UK.  Sheila decided that once she completed her studies, she’d join him in Oxford.  However, they wanted to get married at the University of Toronto where they met.  Sheila and I joked that ideally they’d get married at the Lash Miller Chemistry Building, but since that wasn’t a possibility, they tied the knot at the Victoria College Chapel.  The reception at the Hart House was a lot of fun that evening.  The speeches were some of the wittiest ones we’ve heard all year!
